Ultra Green to open transload facility on Long Island July 19

By Ron Kotrba | July 09, 2012

Ultra Green Energy Services has scheduled a ribbon-cutting ceremony and operational demonstration of its new transload facility at Brookhaven Rail Terminal in Long Island, N.Y., July 19.

Ultra Green Energy Services says its Brookhaven Rail Terminal operations will make biodiesel more readily available across Long Island and supply fuel for the New York City Bioheat mandate that goes into effect this October.

The company will receive railcar shipments of B100 and says it can store up to 250,000 gallons at the facility.

“The new Brookhaven Rail Terminal will help us ensure the economic, as well as environmental, success of the New York City Bioheat mandate, and provide lower-cost Bioheat for all of Long Island,” said Michael Cooper, vice president of Ultra Green Energy Services. “A Bioheat consisting of 12 percent biodiesel blended with the New York state mandated ultra-low sulfur heating oil burns cleaner than natural gas. We’re working to ensure that every fuel dealer in the region can provide clean, reliable, and renewable Bioheat to its customers.”

Ultra Green Energy Services supplies biodiesel through the largest network of wholesale terminals in the metropolitan region. Its principals were among the first to market biodiesel in 1999 and have been blending Bioheat since 2001. The company now operates rail transload facilities and product supply terminals in New York and New Jersey, and has supply positions in Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont and Maine.

In addition to biodiesel and biofuel distribution, Ultra Green Energy Services offers comprehensive buying solutions including custom risk and margin management, premium diesel distribution, wholesale fuel terminal operations, transportation and logistics, flexible pricing mechanisms and complete fuel quality assurances.

The July 19 ceremony will begin at 1:00 pm Eastern Time.
