Helping ensure consistency in the quality of biodiesel
Sleeping easier knowing they have taken a big step towards ensuring fuel quality for their customers
The BQ-9000 program recently welcomed both a new producer and a new marketer to its ranks. Inland Empire Oilseeds LLC in Odessa, Wash., was certified as a BQ-9000 producer in November. Central Ohio Farmers Coop Inc. in Marion, Ohio, was certified in December as a BQ-9000 marketer.
BQ-9000 is a voluntary fuel quality assurance program, overseen by the National Biodiesel Accreditation Commission and supported by the NBB and the Canadian Renewable Fuels Association. BQ-9000 couples the foundations of universally accepted quality management systems with the biodiesel product specification ASTM D6751, and has become the premier quality designation in the industry. The program covers storage, sampling, testing, blending, shipping, distribution and fuel management practices. Any biodiesel producer or marketer is eligible to become a BQ-9000 producer or BQ-9000 marketer.
