Mississippi plant installs MasPower generator

To power its new biodiesel plant in Gulfport, Miss., Go Green Energy LLC turned to Mastry Engine Center for a specially-built MasPower MEC45DSA generator. The Go Green Energy facility utilizes two water wells and a geothermal unit for heating and cooling. Powering the equipment, as well as the building, its 45 kilowatt MasPower generator features a heavy-duty Yanmar 4TNV98T engine. Achieving 90 percent efficiency, even motor waste heat is recycled in the biodiesel manufacturing process, as well as in additional hydronic heating during the winter.
"We're very happy with our MasPower and with Mastry Engine Center for being able to provide us with a complex generator built to our exact specifications," said Go Green Energy chief engineer Dave Carlson. "The Yanmar is an added bonus. They're the best, most efficient diesel engines on the market today."
Running on B100, Go Green Energy's MasPower generator uses only 20 to 30 gallons per day to produce 2,500 gallons of biodiesel a day and 4,000 gallons a day of specialty green product, including cleaners and automotive additives. It also supplies spare electricity to power 40 pumps and other equipment.
