BioTrucker Fuel Card Unveiled

By | April 15, 2008
The National Biodiesel Foundation recently unveiled the first-ever biodiesel fuel card. Officially called the BioTrucker Fuel Card, it highlights the availability of biodiesel with a network of truck stops that carry biodiesel. Among other benefits, truckers and fleets will have no fuel transaction fee for biodiesel at in-network truck stops. Additionally, in conjunction with the card, Sapp Bros. Travel Centers in Peru, Ill., Waddy Unocal 76 in Waddy, Ky., and Drivers Truck Stop in Ft. Worth, Texas, are offering a two-cent discount at the pump for BioTrucker Fuel Card holders.

The initial in-network list of 149 truck stops will continue to grow as more truck stops sell biodiesel and accept the BioTrucker Fuel Card. In-network truck stops include large chains and independent stops.

The BioTrucker Fuel Card gives trucking companies and owner operators an easy way to pay for fuel, access cash advances, and pay for repairs and other expenses while on the road. Cardholders pay the cash price for all fuel, instead of a credit price. ProMiles Software Development Corp. is a partner of the BioTrucker card and provides incentives for using its software. ProMiles mapping software is the only software for the trucking industry that provides locations of biodiesel refueling stations. Discounts on repairs and tires, as well as road-side assistance, are also available through the card.

In addition to the in-network truck stops, the card is accepted at 4,900 truck-accessible retail stations across the United States. Truckers and fleets can sign up for the card, and find all in-network locations for the BioTrucker Fuel Card and hundreds of truck stops that carry biodiesel at

The National Biodiesel Foundation is a not-for-profit organization supporting biodiesel education and outreach. The National Biodiesel Board and members such as the Kentucky Soybean Board represented biodiesel at the recent Mid-America Trucking Show in Louisville, Ky., where the fuel card was introduced. The United Soybean Board and the Nebraska Soybean Board are sponsors of NBB's truck education efforts.
