Seminars aim to teach methanol handling methods

By | November 10, 2006
The National Biodiesel Board (NBB) has recognized methanol safety as a serious issue in need of educational efforts. Earlier this year, the NBB began working with Methanex, the world's largest producer of methanol, to set up a series of Web-based seminars in safety. The first of these important workshops will take place Dec. 6.

The webinars will help to raise awareness about existing legal, environmental and safety requirements. It is critical that biodiesel producers are fully aware of these regulations.

These free workshops will be open to NBB members and other methanol handlers. Registration will be on a first-come, first-serve basis, and a link will be provided on

This workshop will be repeated at the National Biodiesel Conference and Expo, held Feb. 4-7 in San Antonio, Texas. More methanol safety trainings will be offered as needed.
