Appalachian State students win EPA award
The ASU team, one of six winning groups, won the P3 Award for its biodiesel project called, "Closing the Biodiesel Loop: Self-Sustaining Community-Based Biodiesel Production," a closed-loop demonstration system of manufacturing biodiesel using solar thermal heating; wastewater bio-remediation; a passive, solar greenhouse; methanol recovery; soap making; and composting.
