World Energy Alternatives LLC in Lakeland, Fla., is now certified to produce kosher-grade glycerin through February 2009. Commodities Director Jerry Petak has been appointed to oversee the operation. The company has also partnered with Petroleum Fuel Terminal Co. in Greensboro, N.C., to develop the state’s first biodiesel bulk storage and blending facility. The project will convert an existing 172,000-gallon storage tank to blend or store B100. The $250,000 project received a $150,000 grant from the North Carolina Solar Center at North Carolina State University.
